إنتهت منذ قليل مباراة فريقي المصري ضد الأهرام في إطار الدور قبل النهائي لبطولة كأس مصر على ملعب الجيش ببرج العرب بالإسكندرية بفوز الأهرام بركلات الترجيح 4\3.
سجل أهداف اللقاء كلا من فخري لاكاي لصالح الأهرام في الشوط الأول وتعادل صلاح محسن لصالح المصري في الشوط الثاني من اللقاء لينتهي بالتعادل والذهاب إلى الأشواط الإضافية ثم ركلات الترجيح والتي إنتهت لصالح الأهرام.

وصعد فريق بيراميدز إلى الدور النهائي من كأس مصر رقم 92 لمواجهة فريق زد إف سي والذي فاز في دور نصف النهائي عاى فريق الإسماعيلي ليكتب لنفسه التاريخ ويصعد إلى النهائي للمرة الأولى في تاريخة.
ويحاول بيراميدز من الفوز بأول ألقابه في الكرة المصرية بعد أن كان منافس قوي للأهلي على لقب الدوري العام المصري لهذا الموسم دوري نايل والذي ظل فيه لفترة كبيرة متصدر للدوري .
وشهد اللقاء حالتي طرد لكلا الفريقين في الشوط الثاني تم طرد محمود مرعي من فريق الأهرام وفي الشوط الثاني الإضافي تم طرد اللاعب التونسي فخر الدين بن يوسف قبل النهائي بلحظات.
وخرج بذلك من الدور نصف النهائي فريقين من الفرق الجماهيرية المصري والإسماعيلي ولو كانا قد تم صعودهما لكنا رأينا مباراة من العيار الثقيل في التشجيع من قبل جمهور الفريقين نظرا لحماس جمهور بورسعيد والإسماعيلي.
وكان النادي الأهلي قد أعلن إنسحابه من بطولة كأس مصر كما قرر الجهاز الفني لنادي الزمالك الاعتماد على الصف الثاني والناشئين لاستكمال الكأس وخرج على يد فريق طلائع الجيش بركلات الجزاء الترجيحية.
ويعد هذا هو الكأس رقم 92 في تاريخ مسابقة كأس مصر والذي بدأ سنة 1921 وكان أول بطل للمسابقة نادي الزمالك الفريق الملكي العريق وأكثر الأندية فوز بالكأس هما الأهلي والزمالك .
