وقال الدكتور شريف مدحت، مدرس جراحة الأطفال بطب كفر الشيخ، إن مشكلة الحنك المشقوق عند الرضع هي أحد العيوب الخلقية عند الولادة، وهذا يعني أن الحنك غير مكتمل في تكوينه. وأوضح في تصريح خاص لـ”اليوم السابع” أن هناك نوعين من الشق. الأول هو شق جزئي للحنك، وفيه يكون الجزء الخلفي من الحنك مفتوحاً، والثاني هو الحنك الكلي، وفيه يتم شق حنك الطفل بالكامل، من بداية الحنك عند البلعوم إلى الأمام اللثة والأسنان. .

أسباب الحنك المشقوق:
وأوضح الاستشاري أن أسباب هذه المشكلة ترجع إلى الطفرات الجينية المتكررة بين الأقارب، بالإضافة إلى تدخين الأم أثناء الحمل، أو تعرضها للتدخين السلبي، مشيرة إلى أن الأبحاث الحديثة أكدت أن التعرض السلبي للتدخين سبب رئيسي في الحنك المشقوق عند الأطفال حديثي الولادة..
كيف نتعامل مع تلك المشكلة؟
وشدد الدكتور شريف على ضرورة فحص الرضيع بعد ولادته من قبل أطباء متخصصين، للتأكد من عدم وجود عيوب خلقية، وفي حال وجودها يتم اتخاذ الإجراءات الطبية اللازمة حسب نوع الحنك المشقوق، لافتاً إلى أنه ويتم التدخل الجراحي عندما يصل الطفل إلى عمر 9 أشهر أو 18 شهراً، وذلك حسب نوع الحنك المشقوق. نوع الحنك، وذلك بعد إجراء الفحوصات الطبية للتأكد من أن مستوى الهيموجلوبين في الدم في المستوى الطبيعي.
