خطف القنصل الفخرى البريطانى لدى الإكوادور
ذكرت الشرطة، أمس السبت، أن القنصل الفخري البريطاني في مدينة غواياكيل الساحلية بالإكوادور، كولن أرمسترونغ، بولاية لوس ريوس جنوب غربي البلاد، اختطف.
واختطف الدبلوماسي، وهو أيضا صاحب شركة زراعية، في الساعات الأولى من الصباح من مزرعته في منطقة بابا، بحسب ما نقلت سكاي نيوز.
وقالت صحيفة ذا صن إن الشرطة في الإكوادور تحقق في حادثة الاختطاف، التي تم خلالها نقل أرمسترونج وزوجته إلى مكان مجهول، باستخدام السيارة التابعة للقنصل الفخري لبريطانيا، والتي عثر عليها لاحقا.
وبحسب الصحيفة فإن منزل أرمسترونغ الذي اختطف منه تعرض للنهب والتخريب على يد مجرمين واقتادوه إلى جهة مجهولة.
وفي السنوات الأخيرة، أصبحت الإكوادور مركزا لعمليات عصابات المخدرات، الأجنبية والمحلية، مع تفشي جرائم القتل والاختطاف والابتزاز.
وتسيطر العصابات العنيفة على السجون والأحياء في العديد من المدن والموانئ.
وقد ارتفع معدل جرائم القتل على المستوى الوطني أربعة أضعاف منذ عام 2018، حيث قفز من ست جرائم إلى 26 جريمة لكل 100 ألف نسمة.
