مصرع 15 شخصا جراء الأمطار الغزيرة والفيضانات فى بوكافو فى شرق الكونغو
لقي ما لا يقل عن 15 شخصاً حتفهم يومي الثلاثاء والأربعاء في بوكافو شرق جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، نتيجة الأمطار الغزيرة، كما لقي آخرون حتفهم في مناطق أخرى من البلاد.
وتسببت العوامل الجوية بأضرار في مناطق مختلفة من عاصمة ولاية جنوب كيفو التي يقدر عدد سكانها بنحو مليوني نسمة. وتسببت الأمطار الغزيرة في حدوث انهيارات أرضية وانهيارات في المباني وفيضان أحد الأنهار.
وأكدت إدارة مستشفى المنطقة استقبال 15 جثة وصلت من “أماكن مختلفة في المدينة”.
من جانبه، أعلن المتحدث باسم مجلس مدينة بوكافو، جوزيف موغيشو زيهاليروا، أن “19 شخصا على الأقل قتلوا وأصيب خمسة آخرون” في بلدة كادوتو، من بينهم 11 فردا من عائلة واحدة جرفتهم مياه نهر كاوا.
وفي بلدة إيباندا، أدى انهيار جدار منزل إلى مقتل خمسة أشخاص، في حين جرفت المياه ثلاثة أشخاص.
وأفاد مسؤول في منطقة موينغا جنوب بوكافو عن وفاة نحو عشرين شخصا بسبب الأمطار الغزيرة. فيما أكد أحد سكان المنطقة أن هناك أشخاصاً محاصرين تحت الأنقاض بعد انهيار منازلهم.
وذكرت شركة المياه الوطنية أن الأمطار تسببت في إتلاف أحد الأنابيب، ما أدى إلى انقطاع المياه عن جزء كبير من مدينة بوكافو.
وعادة ما تؤثر العوامل الجوية والطبيعية، مثل الأمطار والانهيارات الأرضية، على سكان مدينة بوكافو المبنية على المنحدرات الشديدة.
