قالت الدكتورة رشا طريف أستاذ طب الأطفال واستشاري أمراض الغدد الصماء والسكري لدى الأطفال بكلية الطب جامعة عين شمس، إن السمنة أصبحت مرضا ولها آثار جانبية على صحة أطفالنا وتسبب العديد من الأمراض مثل مرض السكري من النوع الثاني، ارتفاع نسبة الكولسترول، وتكيسات المبيض خلال مرحلة النمو، ولتصحيح مشاكل السمنة. ومكافحتها عند الأطفال، من خلال ضرورة الحفاظ على نظام غذائي صحي ومتوازن يحتوي على الخضار والفواكه والبروتين، للمساعدة على النمو السليم وتحسين التركيز، وتجنب السكريات والأغذية المحفوظة والوجبات السريعة والجاهزة، وممارسة الرياضة. 3 مرات في الأسبوع.
وأضافت أنه فيما يتعلق بأمراض الغدد الصمامية عند الأطفال وطرق ملاحظتها والكشف المبكر عنها، قالت إن جهاز الغدد الصماء عبارة عن مجموعة من الغدد المسؤولة عن إفراز الهرمونات في الجسم، ولكل هرمون وظيفته الخاصة، وعندما يحدث خلل في الغدد الصماء فإن ذلك يسبب العديد من الأمراض، كما أن خلل الغدد الصماء بالنسبة للأطفال يؤثر بشكل كبير على وظائف الجسم المختلفة، وهي غدد منفصلة في الجسم مثل الغدة النخامية، وغدة البنكرياس، والغدة الدرقية. الغدة الدرقية. يجب على كل أب وأم ملاحظة مراحل نمو الطفل، خاصة فيما يتعلق بمقاسات ملابسه، وهل نمو الجسم يتطور بشكل طبيعي أم أنه يتوقف عند توقف تام؟ إلى حد ما.
