"الأونروا": وقف إطلاق النار وحده الكفيل بوقف الموت والدمار والنزوح في قطاع غزة
قال مدير وكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (أونروا) في قطاع غزة، توماس وايت، إن وقف إطلاق النار وحده هو الذي يمكن أن يوقف الموت والدمار والتهجير في القطاع، مشيراً إلى أن الحرب الإسرائيلية كبدت غزة وقطاع غزة خسائر فادحة. شعبها، حيث فقد الناس عائلاتهم وممتلكاتهم ومنازلهم. مشيراً إلى أن تفعيل الأمين العام للمادة 99 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة يعكس خطورة الوضع.
ونقل مركز أنباء الأمم المتحدة ومقره نيويورك عن وايت قوله إن “ملاجئ الأونروا في رفح تعاني من الاكتظاظ الشديد ويقيم الكثير من الناس الآن في العراء، لكن موظفي الوكالة التابعة للأمم المتحدة يواصلون العمل لساعات طويلة كل يوم على الرغم من فقدانهم”. زملائهم ومنازلهم، وعلى الرغم من أنهم… فقد أصبحوا هم أنفسهم نازحين ويعيش الكثير منهم في الملاجئ».
وسلط مدير الأونروا الضوء على القصص المأساوية التي يرويها الأشخاص الذين نجوا من الهجمات في الشمال، خاصة في الشجاعية وجباليا، مشيراً إلى أن عدد سكان رفح يبلغ عادة 280 ألف نسمة، ومن المتوقع أن يكون هناك أكثر من 800 ألف نازح الآن. في رفح، هناك ضغط. بنية تحتية ضخمة من حيث القدرة على ضخ المياه وتوفير مياه الشرب النظيفة وضخ الصرف الصحي وإزالة النفايات من الشوارع.
وقال وايت إن إحدى أكبر المشاكل التي تواجه الاستجابة الإنسانية في غزة هي عدم القدرة على جلب مساعدات كافية، نتيجة آليات وإجراءات معقدة للغاية، بينما تكافح المستشفيات للتأقلم بسبب نقص الأدوية، وبالتالي القيود والتدابير هذه العملية المعقدة للغاية لتوصيل المساعدات إلى قطاع غزة. وهذا يعني أنه لم تصل مساعدات كافية، كما أن نقص الوقود زاد الأمور تعقيداً.
