التقى وزراء خارجية المجموعة العربية بوزير الخارجية الأميركي أنتوني بلينكن في نيويورك على هامش انعقاد جلسة النقاش المفتوح رفيع المستوى لمجلس الأمن حول الوضع في الشرق الأوسط وخاصة في الأراضي الفلسطينية.
وذكر المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية المصرية أن الاجتماع شهد نقاشا صريحا بين الوزراء العرب ووزير الخارجية الأميركي حول الأوضاع المتردية في قطاع غزة نتيجة استمرار القصف الجوي ضد المدنيين وسياسة الحصار والتجويع.
وحرص وزير الخارجية المصري سامح شكري خلال اللقاء على إعادة التأكيد على موقف مصر الداعي إلى ضرورة احتواء الأزمة الراهنة، وذلك من خلال المطالبة بالوقف الفوري لإطلاق النار، والحيلولة دون الدخول في دائرة مفرغة من العنف قد يمتد مداها لتشمل أجزاء أخرى في المنطقة، والرفض القاطع لأية محاولات تهدف لتصفية القضية الفلسطينية على أساس دعوات النزوح أو سياسات التهجير القسري لأبناء الشعب الفلسطيني المخالفة لكافة أحكام القانون الدولي الإنساني.كما أكد شكري على الأهمية القصوى لضمان النفاذ الآمن والكامل والمستدام للمساعدات الإنسانية إلى قطاع غزة للتخفيف من وطأة المعاناة الإنسانية التي يتعرض لها الفلسطينيون تحت القصف الإسرائيلي المستمر، مجددا التذكير بموقف مصر الثابت والداعي إلى التعامل مع جذور الأزمة الراهنة، والمتمثلة في انسداد الأفق السياسي أمام الشعب الفلسطيني على مدار العقود الماضية، وضرورة تحرك المجتمع الدولي لإحياء السلام العادل والشامل القائم على حل الدولتين.
