تحتوي محافظة سوهاج على العديد من المناطق السياحية والأثرية الهامة من عصور مختلفة، ما بين العصر الفرعوني، والعصر اليوناني الروماني، والعصر القبطي، والعصر الإسلامي. وتنتشر كل هذه الآثار الموجودة على أرض المحافظة في عدد من المراكز منها مدينة أخميم، ومدينة البلينا، ومدينة سوهاج، ومدينة طهطا، ومدينة طما، وغيرها.
لكن الجديد والشيء الذي لم يتم نشره بشكل كافٍ لتعريفه للعامة هو وجود هرم في محافظة سوهاج وهو هرم الصنايكي بقرية الغنيمية جنوب أبيدوس في محافظة سوهاج. -بالينا. تعرف عليها من خلال الصور والمعلومات التالية:-
1- اسم الهرم هرم السنكي أو السنيكي.
2- موقع الهرم قرية الغنيمية جنوب أبيدوس
3- الموقع جنوب شرق مجموعة الملك أحمس
4- بناه الملك هوني آخر ملوك الأسرة الثالثة (2650 ق.م).
5- الهرم متدرج وصغير الحجم
6- تم استخدام الطوب اللبن والحجر الجيري في بناء الهرم الذي يشبه الحصن. ارتفاعه 12 مترا وسمكه 7 أمتار.
7- لم يستخدم كمقبرة بل كعلامة لتحديد حدود المراكز الإدارية والعبادية في الأسرة الثالثة، وقد عثر على أكثر من هرم مشابه له.
8 – ترجع أهمية الهرم إلى اكتشاف بقايا الطرق اللبنة الصاعدة حول الهرم.
9 – يعتقد الناس أن الهرم مكان مقدس ومبارك يزوره المرضى والمعاقين والطفل المتأخر في المشي أو الكلام والراغبين في الزواج أو الإنجاب. ويقومون بوضع شيء يخص المريض في الفتحة الحجرية الموجودة في الهرم.
