يرصد بسماء العالم العربي بعد غروب الشمس اليوم السبت 10 اغسطس 2024 وبداية الليل اقتران القمر بالنجم السماك الأعزل في ظاهرة مشاهدة بالعين المجردة في حال كانت السماء صافية.
السماك الأعزل من نجوم المرتبة الأولى ما يعني بأنه احد المع نجوم السماء، وفي حقيقته عبارة عن نجمين يدوران حول بعضهما البعض ولكن يظهر لنا كنجم واحد بسبب المسافة الشاسعة التي تفصلنا عنهما، ولو كان السماك الأعزل على نفس المسافة التي تفصلنا عن الشمس سيكون بصرياً اكثر إشراقا بحوالي 1.900 مرة من الشمس، ولو وضعنا الشمس في موقع السماك الأعزل على مسافة 262 سنة ضوئية سوف تظهر الشمس 1/1.900 فقط من لمعان السماك الأعزل على تلك المسافة.
خلال ساعات الليل يلاحظ أن القمر والسماك الأعزل يتجهان نحو الغرب عبر السماء والسبب في ذلك نفس السبب الذي يجعل الشمس تتجه نحو الغرب خلال النهار فذلك يعود إلى دوران الأرض حول محورها من الغرب إلى الشرق.
لكن إذا راقبت القمر من ليله إلى الليله التالية يمكن وبسهوله ملاحظة حركته الحقيقية في مداره حول الأرض، فعلى سبيل المثال مساء اليوم التالي الأحد سيلاحظ ان القمر تحرك نحو الشرق مبتعداً عن نجم السماك الأعزل .
