ترامب يتحدث عن إمكانية توليه منصب رئيس مجلس النواب مؤقتا
أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي السابق دونالد ترامب، استعداده لتولي منصب رئيس مجلس النواب مؤقتا، حتى يقرر الجمهوريون من سيترأس المجلس بعد إقالة كيفن مكارثي.
وقال ترامب في مقابلة مع شبكة فوكس نيوز: “لقد طلبوا مني أن أتحدث كشخصية موحدة، إذ لدي العديد من الأصدقاء في الكونغرس”.
وتابع: “إذا لم يتمكنوا من التصويت، سألوني إذا كنت سأفكر في إمكانية تولي منصب رئيس المجلس حتى يتمكنوا من اختيار شخص ما على المدى الطويل، لأنني سأترشح للرئاسة”.
وأضاف: “سألوني إن كنت سأفعل ذلك لفترة قصيرة من أجل الحفلة حتى يصلوا إلى النتيجة. لن أفعل ذلك لأني أريد ذلك، بل سأفعله في حالة الضرورة، في حالة الضرورة”. إذا لم يتمكنوا من اتخاذ قرارهم”.
ولم يوضح ترامب من الذي طلب منه بالتحديد دراسة إمكانية شغل منصب رئيس مجلس النواب.
وأبدى استعداده لتولي رئاسة المجلس لمدة 30 أو 60 أو 90 يوما، مضيفا أنه سيفعل ذلك “من أجل الحزب فقط”.
يُشار إلى أن كيفن مكارثي أُقيل من منصب رئيس مجلس النواب الأمريكي يوم الثلاثاء الماضي بعد اتهامه بانتهاك الوعود التي قطعها على نفسه خلال انتخابه رئيسًا للمجلس في يناير الماضي.
