وزارة الصحة: فيروس شلل الأطفال يصيب الأطفال دون الخامسة بالدرجة الأولى
وقالت وزارة الصحة والسكان، إن فيروس شلل الأطفال يصيب في المقام الأول الأطفال دون سن الخامسة، مؤكدة أن التطعيم يوفر للطفل الحماية من الإصابة بالمرض.
أكد الدكتور حسام عبد الغفار المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الصحة والسكان، أن مصر تمتلك نظام مراقبة قوي وتطعيمات مستمرة للحماية من الأمراض، كما تحرص وزارة الصحة والسكان على مكتسبات الدولة في إبقاء مصر خالية من مرض شلل الأطفال. وذلك بحسب ما أعلنته منظمة الصحة العالمية عام 2006.
وأضاف: «وزارة الصحة والسكان تطلق حملات دورية للتطعيم ضد شلل الأطفال. وتابع: برنامج التطعيم الموسع يهدف إلى توفير 10 أنواع من التطعيمات.
وقال إن التطعيم يكون على شكل حقن أو قطرات تعطى عن طريق الفم، ويتكون جدول التطعيم من عدة جرعات، منها الجرعات الأساسية والجرعات الداعمة..
ونصح بالتأكد من تطعيم الأطفال ضد فيروس شلل الأطفال في مواعيده المحددة في جدول التطعيمات حسب عمر الطفل، والرجوع إلى الطبيب في حال عدم استلام الجرعة في موعدها، موضحاً: «يمكن إعطاء لقاح شلل الأطفال في نفس الوقت». الوقت مع اللقاحات الأخرى.
