قال مسؤولان أميركيان،اول أمس الخميس، إن الولايات المتحدة تنفذ طلعات بطائرات استطلاع مسيرة في سماء قطاع غزة بحثا عن المحتجزين لدى حركة حماس خلال هجومها على إسرائيل في السابع من أكتوبر الماضي.
وقال المسؤولان،اللذان تحدثا شريطة عدم الكشف عن هويتيهما،إن الولايات المتحدة تشغل مسيرات لجمع المعلومات الاستخباراتية فوق غزة للمساعدة في جهود تحديد مواقع الرهائن.
وقال أحد المسؤولين إنه يجري تنفيذ طلعات الطائرات المسيرة منذ أكثر من أسبوع،وفق لما ذكرته رويترز.
ويقول مسؤولون أميركيون إن 10 أميركيين في عداد المفقودين ربما يكونون من بين أكثر من 200 شخص محتجزين في غزة ويعتقد أنهم موجودون في شبكة الأنفاق مترامية الأطراف التابعة لحركة حماس.
وطوقت القوات الإسرائيلية يوم الخميس مدينة غزة، المدينة الرئيسية في القطاع،في إطار هجومها على حركة حماس التي تقوم بشن هجمات كر وفر انطلاقا من الأنفاق.وتقول السلطات الصحية في غزة إن الرد الإسرائيلي على القطاع الذي يبلغ عدد سكانه 2.4 مليون نسمة أدى إلى مقتل ما لا يقل عن 9061 شخصا، بينهم 3760 طفلا و2326 امرأة، فيما بلغ عدد المصابين 32 ألفا.
وعلى صعيد عمليات القصف على غزة، أفاد المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي التابع لحركة حماس بأن الجيش الإسرائيلي أقر بإلقاء 10,000 قنبلة منذ بداية العدوان، والتقديرات بأن كمية المتفجرات الملقاة على قطاع غزة تتجاوز 25,000 طن؛ ما يعني نحو 70 طنا لكل كيلومتر مربع من قطاع غزة.
