تعتزم الحكومة المصرية زراعة 3.5 مليون فدان من القمح في العام المالي 2024-2025، مقارنة بـ 3.2 مليون فدان في العام المالي الحالي.
وأوضحت وزيرة التخطيط، هالة السعيد، أن هذه الخطوة تأتي ضمن خطة لتوسيع السعة التخزينية لصوامع القمح لتصل إلى 5.2 مليون طن مقابل 3.9 مليون طن في العام المالي الفائت.
وأكدت السعيد أن مصر تهدف أيضا إلى زيادة مساحة الأراضي المزروعة بالمحاصيل الاستراتيجية، لتصل إلى 2.8 مليون فدان من الذرة و220 ألف فدان من الفول البلدي، مضيفة أن تعزيز إنتاجية هذه المحاصيل سيقلص الفجوة الغذائية ويحد من استيراد المنتجات الزراعية.
كما أوضحت الوزيرة أن الخطة تشمل إضافة حوالي 750 ألف فدان إلى المساحات الزراعية في العام المالي 2024-2025، ليصل الإجمالي إلى نحو 10.7 مليون فدان.
