حثّت الولايات المتحدة الأحد إسرائيل على اتخاذ كافة التدابير اللازمة من أجل “التمييز” في عملياتها العسكرية بين حماس والمدنيين الفلسطينيين،في وقت يكثف الجيش الإسرائيلي قصفه وعملياته البرية في قطاع غزة.
وصرح مستشار الأمن القومي للرئيس الأميركي جايك سوليفان لشبكة سي إن إن”ما نعتقده هو أنه في كل ساعة وكل يوم من هذه العملية العسكرية، يجب على الحكومة الإسرائيلية أن تتخذ كل التدابير الممكنة المتوفرة لديها للتمييز بين حماس – الإرهابيين الذين يشكلون أهدافا عسكرية مشروعة-والمدنيين الذين ليسوا كذلك”.
وأضاف “هذه هي النصيحة التي نقدمها لهم. وهذا ما نبلغه،ونواصل إبلاغه على أعلى المستويات”موضحا أن الرئيس جو بايدن سيتحدث مرة أخرى الأحد مع رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو.وردا على الهجوم، يقصفالجيش الإسرائيلي بلا هوادة قطاع غزة الذي تسيطر عليه حماس منذ عام 2007،ويحاصر القطاع الفلسطيني الصغير الذي يناهز عدد سكانه 2,4 مليون نسمة.
وأعلنت وزارة الصحة في حكومة حماس ليل السبت الأحد أن أكثر من ثمانية آلاف فلسطيني “نصفهم من الأطفال”قتلوا في قطاع غزة منذ السابع من أكتوبر.واعتبر سوليفان أن حماس تفعل”كل ما في وسعها لتعريض الناس للخطر، واستخدامهم دروعا بشرية”ولكن “تقع على عاتق إسرائيل مسؤولية اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة للتمييز بين حماس التي لا تمثل الشعب الفلسطيني والمدنيين الفلسطينيين الأبرياء”.
وأضاف مستشار الأمن القومي في البيت الأبيض أن إسرائيل يجب أن تعطي الأولوية “للعمليات المحددة الأهداف”.
والولايات المتحدة هي الداعم الرئيسي لإسرائيل وتقدم لها مساعدات عسكرية كبيرة.
