وذكر بيان على الموقع الرسمي للخارجية الأمريكية أن بلينكن ولازاريني أكدا على أهمية الأونروا ومهمتها الإنسانية الأساسية في غزة والمنطقة..
واعترف وزير الخارجية الأمريكي بالعمل الحيوي الذي يقوم به موظفو الأونروا، الذين يقدمون الإغاثة الإنسانية في ظل أصعب الظروف، وأعرب عن حزنه العميق لموظفي الأونروا الاثنين والسبعين الذين قتلوا أثناء خدمتهم في غزة منذ بداية الأزمة. ..
