قالت صحيفة “ACN” الفنزويلية، إنه تم استخراج ما يقرب من 135 ألف طن من النفايات من بحيرة ماراكايبو من قبل الحكومة الوطنية، بعد أن أدى تسرب نفطي إلى تلوث السواحل في فنزويلا.
تسرب النفط في فنزويلا
وأشار نائب رئيس الأشغال والخدمات العامة، نيستور ريفيرول، عبر إنستغرام، إلى أن هذه النفايات عندما أطلقت الحكومة خطة صرف صحي لمصب النهر، تأثرت بتراكم النفايات، وانتشار بكتيريا تسمى فيريدين، و تسربات نفطية متكررة من شركة PDVSA. شركة النفط الوطنية الفنزويلية مملوكة للدولة.
وبالإضافة إلى القمامة المستخرجة، استبدلت السلطة التنفيذية 400 كيلومتر من الأنابيب المغمورة في هذه المياه -التابعة لشركة النفط الوطنية الفنزويلية- بأخرى أكثر مرونة «لتجنب الانسكابات والتسربات في هذا الخزان المهم للمياه العذبة في البلاد».
وشدد ريفيرول على أن هذه الإنجازات هي “مجرد بداية” للخطة التي تهدف إلى استبدال 700 كيلومتر من الأنابيب، لمنع ظهور البحيرة باللونين الأخضر والأسود واستعادة لونها الأزرق، فضلا عن الإشراف على جميع الشركات العاملة في هذه المياه.
تسرب النفط
وفي هذا الصدد، أوضح الصياد خوسيه لوزاردو (50 عاماً) أن هناك شواطئ دمرت بالكامل، حيث تعرضت البحيرة لتلوث كبير، مما أثر على الأسماك التي قتلها النفط.
وبالمثل، بدأ عمال القطاع العام والمتطوعون في تنظيف ما مجموعه 600 شاطئ متضرر من التلوث، وبعضها الآن مناسب للاستخدام من قبل السكان المحليين.
ورغم إصرار السلطة التنفيذية على أن البحيرة “بحالة ممتازة”، يرى خبراء البيئة والسكان أن هناك “وضعا طارئا” يجب الاستمرار في معالجته للتخفيف من الأثر السلبي على اقتصاد البحيرة والحد من انتشار التلوث. الأمراض ذات الصلة.
