في إطار الجهود المبذولة لتحسين الخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين، قام اللواء عماد كدواني، محافظ المنيا، بزيارة تفقدية لمتابعة الأعمال الإنشائية الجارية لتوسعة محطة مياه الشرب بمدينة مطاي. ضمن الخطة الاستثمارية، وتهدف هذه التوسعات إلى زيادة الطاقة الإنتاجية للمحطة لتصل إلى 68 ألف متر مكعب يوميًا، مما سيساهم في تلبية احتياجات المدينة من مياه الشرب بفاعلية أكبر.
وأوضح المحافظ أن هذه التوسعات تتم ضمن الخطة الاستثمارية ، حيث ستقوم المحطة بعد الانتهاء من الأعمال بتغذية مدينة مطاي بالكامل، باستثناء المناطق الواقعة شرق النيل وقرية الشيخ حسن وأبجاج الحطب، كما تفقد محطة المياه القديمة بطاقة 34 ألف متر مكعب يوميا ، وتأتي هذه الجهود في إطار خطة المحافظة لتحسين البنية التحتية وتوفير خدمات مياه الشرب لكافة المواطنين.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذه التوسعات تأتي في إطار خطة شاملة لتعزيز خدمات مياه الشرب والصرف الصحي في محافظة المنيا، بما يتماشى مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة التي تسعى إلى تحسين جودة الحياة في كافة أنحاء المحافظة.
