كشف مصدر بالاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم، كاف، عن الخضوع للتحقيق لطاقم الحكام بقيادة الحكم البوروندي باسيفيك ندابيها وينمانا، والذي أدار مباراة أورلاندو بايرتس الجنوب أفريقي ونادي بيراميدز في ذهاب الدور نصف النهائي من دوري أبطال أفريقيا، على استاد سوكر سيتي بمدينة جوهانسبرج وانتهت بالتعادل السلبي بدون أهداف.
أضاف المصدر أن طاقم الحكام خضع للتحقيق من جانب مسئولي لجنة الحكام في الكاف، بسبب الأخطاء الجسيمة التي ارتكبها الحكام في المباراة من فوضى في الإنذارات بالملعب وإلغاء هدفين سجلهما بيراميدز في شباك أورلاندو بداعي التسلل ولمسة يد، أحدهما صحيح وفقا لقانون اللعبة، والآخر يترك لتقدير الحكم، ولكن الحكم وطاقم الفار تدخلا بشكل خاطئ وحرما بيراميدز من فوز كبير خارج الأرض.
كما خضع الحكام لما شوهد من تدخل الحكم الرابع وإشهار بطاقات في وجه لاعبي بيراميدز خلال الاحتجاج على عدم احتساب الهدف الثاني، وأكد طاقم الحكام أنه لم يشهر إلا بطاقتين صفراوين لفريق بيراميدز، إحداهما للمدرب كرونسلاف يورتشيتش للاعتراض المبالغ فيه والأخرى للمدافع محمود مرعي لارتكابه مخالفة أثناء المباراة استوجبت إنذارًا.
