أشاد رئيس حكومة تصريف الأعمال نجيب ميقاتي بصمود شعب جنوب لبنان في أرضه رغم كل الصعوبات التي يعانون منها، مشيراً إلى أن الحكومة تجري كافة الاتصالات الدبلوماسية والسياسية لمعالجة الوضع الراهن ووقف العدوان الإسرائيلي، موضحاً أن وتقوم الحكومة في الوقت نفسه بإعداد خطة طوارئ عملية في حالة الطوارئ. أي تحديثات.

وناقش اللقاء الوضع الأمني في المنطقة ومعاناة الأهالي نتيجة العدوان الإسرائيلي على القرى والبلدات، بالإضافة إلى بعض المطالب الخدمية العاجلة..
وأعرب مكائي عن أمله في أن تنجح الضغوط التي يمارسها العدو الإسرائيلي في وقف العدوان على غزة والانتهاكات الإسرائيلية المستمرة للأراضي اللبنانية..
