وقال جمال رشدي المتحدث الرسمي باسم الأمين العام إن اللقاء عكس تقاربا واضحا في وجهات النظر بشأن أولوية وقف إطلاق النار في غزة، وضرورة العمل الجاد على تمديد التهدئة الإنسانية المؤقتة لتصبح هدنة دائمة.
وقال رشدي إن اللقاء ركز على سبل تفعيل حل الدولتين في المرحلة المقبلة، من خلال البناء على التوافق المتنامي في جميع أنحاء العالم على حتمية تحقيق رؤية الدولتين من أجل التوصل إلى تسوية عادلة تضمن الأمن والأمان. السلام لكلا طرفي الصراع.
ونقل رشدي خلال اللقاء عن الأمين العام للجامعة العربية تأكيده على المسؤولية الكبيرة الملقاة على عاتق أوروبا من أجل العمل على دفع مسار التسوية في المرحلة المقبلة، مشيراً إلى ضرورة الدفع بكل قوة بفكرة التسوية. عقد مؤتمر دولي لتفعيل حل الدولتين باعتباره آلية مهمة تحظى بإجماع عربي وأوروبي. سواء.
