قال سوكاموتو ماساهيكو مدير عام التعليم فى طوكيو أن مصر دولة عريقة منذ قديم الأزل تحمل ارثا ثقفيا وتاريخيا عريقا ونأمل أن يتم التبادل بين الجانبين المصرى واليابانى خلال الفترة القادمة مشيرة إلى أن الهدف من توقيع اتفاقية بين مكتبة طوكيو الكبرى ومكتبة الإسكندرية هو رقمنة الكتب والوثائق فضلا عن تبادل الكتب بين الجانبين
وأضاف سوكاموتو فى تصريحات خاصة له لوكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط اليوم الجمعه ع هامش توقيع الاتفاقية أن المكتبتين زاخرتان بالكتب القيمة والعظيمة وان الاتفاقية تهدف أيضا إلى تنظيم برامج تعاون وبحث وتطوير فى عدة مجالات مثل الفهرسة والاتمتة والرقمنة والتواصل بين المكتبتين ودعم التعاون الداخلي للمكتبات بين البلدين وتنفيذ مشروعات بحثية علمية مشتركة وتطويرها فى عدة مجالات مثل الفهرسة بيليوجرافيا
وأوضح أن الاتفاقية تأتى فى إطار العلاقات الوطيدة بين البلدين وتعزيز التعاون الثقافى بين المكتبتين فى مجالات الثقافة والعلوم والبحث وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والرقمنة من خلال عدد البرامج والأنشطة المشتركة
