أولت الحكومة المصرية اهتمامًا كبيرًا بالقطاع الزراعي منذ عام 2014، حيث حظي القطاع بدعم غير مسبوق ومستمر من القيادة السياسية والعمل على تطوير الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني، وتشجيع الصناعات الداعمة لهما.
تلتزم الدولة بتوفير مستلزمات الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني، وشراء المحاصيل الزراعية الأساسية بسعر معقول يحقق هامش ربح للفلاح، بالاتفاق مع الاتحادات والجمعيات الزراعية. كما تلتزم الدولة بتخصيص نسبة من الأراضي المستصلحة لصغار المزارعين وشباب الخريجين، بالإضافة إلى حماية الفلاح والعامل الزراعي من الاستغلال، بالإضافة إلى زيادة الاستثمارات الحكومية الموجهة للقطاع في السنوات الأخيرة وتنفيذ العديد من الإجراءات المشاريع الوطنية الكبرى، بالإضافة إلى مراقبة القيادة السياسية المستمرة للأداء في القطاع الزراعي مع تهيئة المناخ الاستثماري في هذا القطاع.
أصدرت الدولة العديد من القوانين والقرارات لتحسين إنتاجية القطاع الزراعي والحفاظ على المساحة الزراعية وزيادتها، كما تم تعديل بعض التشريعات.
1- 46 مليار جنيه تكلفة المشروعات المنفذة والجارية في مجال الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي خلال الفترة من 2014-2023.
2- 37.8 مليار جنيه إجمالي الاستثمارات العامة الموجهة للقطاع الزراعي خلال 2021-2022.
3- 858.4 مليار جنيه قيمة الناتج المحلي الإجمالي بالأسعار الجارية لقطاع الزراعة والغابات وصيد الأسماك خلال عام 2021-2022، مقابل نحو 241.5 عام 2013-2014.
4- 6.5 مليون طن إجمالي الصادرات الزراعية المصرية عام 2022 توجهت إلى 160 سوقًا خارجية.
