وقال الدكتور أشرف الحباك، أستاذ طب وجراحة العيون بكلية الطب جامعة بنها، “كثيرا ما نلاحظ أن النساء يعانين من ثلاث حالات طبية شائعة، وهي فقر الدم، وانخفاض ضغط الدم، واضطرابات الغدة الدرقية. وعلى وجه الخصوص، فإن مشاكل الغدة الدرقية تؤثر بشكل واضح على العيون.
وأضاف استشاري طب العيون في تصريح خاص لـ”اليوم السابع” أن نشاط الغدة الدرقية يسبب انتفاخات في العين، كما يتسبب في ترسب بعض المواد الدهنية من الجسم خلف العين مما قد يتسبب في تحرك العين للأمام. والتي يلاحظ بسرعة على شكل العين انتفاخات. وقد يكون لها مضاعفات أخرى على العين، فعندما تتحرك العين للأمام يحدث توتر في عضلاتها، مما قد يسبب ألمًا في الحركة الداخلية أو الخارجية للعين عند تحريكها يمينًا ويسارًا.
وأوضح الهيباغ أن جحوظ العين يصاحبه احمرار وليس التهابا، لأن الأوعية الدموية في العين تمتلئ بالدم، مما قد يسبب الرؤية المزدوجة. كما أن جحوظ العين قد يؤثر على العصب البصري بسبب شد العضلات، مما يسبب ضبابية الرؤية، مما يؤكد على ضرورة انتباه مرضى الغدة الدرقية مبكرا. لأي تغيير يحدث في العين.
وأضاف أستاذ طب العيون أن علاج العين في هذه الحالة يجب أن يتم مبكرا، قبل انتفاخها وتوتر العضلات أو ترسب الدهون خلف العين. وإلا فالحل ساعتها هو التدخل الجراحي فقط.
وكشف عن ضرورة المتابعة الدورية كل عام وخاصة للنساء وإجراء تحليل الغدة الدرقية مع إجراء فحص بالموجات فوق الصوتية للغدة، لأن التحليل وحده في كثير من الأحيان قد لا يكشف عن قصور الغدة الدرقية أو نشاط الغدة الدرقية.
