أدت الحرب التي اندلعت في أبريل في السودان بين الجيش وقوات الدعم السريع إلى نزوح 7.1 مليون شخص، وفق ما أعلنت الأمم المتحدة الخميس، واصفة إياها بـ”أكبر أزمة نزوح في العالم”.
وقال المتحدث باسم الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ستيفان دوغاريك إن المعارك الأخيرة وسط البلاد أرغمت 300 ألف شخص على الفرار و”هذه العمليات الجديدة ترفع عدد النازحين إلى 7.1 مليونا”، بينهم 1.5 مليون لجأوا إلى البلدان المجاورة.
ومنذ اندلاع الحرب فر نحو 500 ألف نازح إلى ولاية الجزيرة، أغلبهم من العاصمة الخرطوم التي كانت مركزا للقتال، بحسب مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية.
وقال المكتب الأممي إن مدينة ود مدني،التي تبعد نحو 100 كيلومتر جنوب شرقي الخرطوم، كانت قد استضافت أكثر من 86 ألف نازح.وأعلن برنامج الأغذية العالمي، الأربعاء، وقف المساعدات الغذائية مؤقتا في بعض مناطق الجزيرة، فيما وصفه “بالانتكاسة الكبيرة” للجهود الإنسانية في الولاية.
وقال برنامج الأغذية التابع للأمم المتحدة إنه قدم المساعدة إلى 800 ألف شخص في الولاية، منهم العديد من الأسر التي فرت من القتال في الخرطوم.
ودمر الصراع في السودان البلاد وأدى إلى مقتل ما يصل إلى 9 آلاف شخص حتى أكتوبر، وفقا للأمم المتحدة، غير أن النشطاء ومنظمات الأطباء يقولون إن العدد الحقيقي أعلى بكثير.
وأجبر القتال في ود مدني العديد من منظمات الإغاثة، بما فيها اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، على إجلاء موظفيها من المدينة التي كانت مركزا للعمليات الإنسانية في البلاد.
