ولكن الدكتورة يلينا مالينيكوفا، رئيسة قسم علم الفيروسات في الأكاديمية الطبية الروسية، تحذر من الاستخدام غير العقلاني لمكيفات الهواء، لأنه حتى في الصيف يمكن الإصابة بالمرض.
وتشير إلى أن التبريد وانخفاض حرارة الجسم يساهم في تطور العدوى البكتيرية، التي مصدرها يمكن أن يكون مكيف الهواء أيضا.
وتقول: “مكيف الهواء هو مصدر لبعض أنواع العدوى. ليس فقط الفيلقية (Legionella)، ولكن أيضا لبعض الفيروسات. كما تلعب الفطريات أيضا دورا سيئا، لأن استنشاق الفطريات، يمكن أن يسبب مشكلات صحية مزعجة جدا”.
