سيول شديدة ضخمة قاتلة شمال السودان

شهدت عدة مناطق في شمال السودان سيول ضخمة يوم الثلاثاء، مما أدى إلى تدمير أكثر من 10 آلاف منزل بشكل كلي وجزئي.
وكانت حدة الأمطار والسيول كبيرة في المناطق الواقعة شمال مدينة دنقلا، بالإضافة إلى مدينة أبو حمد في ولاية نهر النيل، وهي مركز رئيسي لأنشطة تعدين الذهب في البلاد.
وأثار هذا الوضع مخاوف بيئية كبيرة بسبب اختلاط مياه السيول بمخلفات مواقع التعدين وجرفها إلى نهر النيل، المصدر الرئيسي لمياه الشرب وري المشاريع الزراعية.
ورغم عدم صدور بيانات رسمية حول حجم الخسائر، أشار ناشطون إلى مقتل 10 أشخاص على الأقل وإصابة نحو 50 آخرين نتيجة لتساقط المباني أو الغرق في مجرى السيل.
