إستقبل البابا تواضروس الثاني في المقر البابوي بالقاهرة ، معالي أحمد بن محمد الجروان رئيس المجلس العالمي للتسامح والسلام.
وخلال اللقاء تمت الإشارة إلى مؤتمر التسامح والسلام الذي انعقد في إسبانيا الشهر الماضي ، والذي تناول موضوعات دور رجال الدين في نشر التسامح والسلام، وحضره عدد من رجال الدين المسيحي والإسلامي وكذلك الأمين العام للإخوة الإنسانية.
وقد لفت رئيس المجلس العالمي للتسامح إلى أنه يجري حاليًّا الإعداد لإقامة مؤتمر عالمي آخر يتناول موضوع الحفاظ على السلام العالمي والحد من الكراهية ، معربًا عن تطلعه لعمل لقاء مشترك بين الكنيسة القبطية الأرثوذكسية والمجلس العالمي للتسامح والسلام من خلال مائدة مستديرة ، مشددًا على أهمية أن تكون الدول العربية منبعًا لرسائل السلام للعالم أجمع.
ومن جهته ثَمَّنَ قداسة البابا تواضروس تلك الجهود، معربًا عن دعمه لكل جهد يبذل من أجل نبذ الكراهية ونشر المحبة والسلام.
