أطول نهر اصطناعي في العالم يشق صحراء مصر الغربية
تواصل مصر تنفيذ مشروع الدلتا الجديدة العملاق، الذي يضم أكبر نهراصطناعي في العالم، حيث شرعت في تنفيذه شمال غرب البلاد بجوار محطة الضبعة.
النهر الصناعي الذي يشق صحراء مصر الغربية، يبلغ طوله 114 كيلومتراً وبتكلفة 160 مليار جنيه «5.25 مليار دولار»ليكون الأطول من نوعه في العالم، حيث ستتم معالجة مياه النهر الجديد بمحطة مياه الحمام شمال غرب البلاد.
تعود بداية مشروع النهر الصناعي في مصر، إلى أبريل 2017، إذ يعد من أهم المشروعات المائية في السنوات الأخيرة من حيث الإنشاءات الهندسية والأهمية الاقتصادية، فهو عمل هندسي عملاق يتكون من ثلاث قنوات يتم إنشاؤها في ظروف مختلفة عن باقي قنوات الري في مصر، وينقل المياه إلى مناطق صحراوية مرتفعة عن نهر النيل بأكثر من 100 متر.
ويهدف النهر إلى توفير منتجات زراعية ذات جودة عالية بأسعار مناسبة، وتصدير الفائض منها إلى الخارج بما يسهم بتقليل الاستيراد وتوفير العملة الصعبة وتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.
