زلزال عنيف يضرب إندونيسيا بقوة 6.5 درجة بمقياس ريختر

ضرب اليوم الأحد زلزال عتيف بمتطقة قبالة مقاطعة بابوا شرقي إندونيسيا بقوة 6.4 درجة على مقياس ربختر.
وأعلنت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية والمناخ والجيوفيزياء
أن الزلزال وقع على بعد كيلومتر واحد جنوب إقليم سارمي في مقاطعة بابوا وعلى عمق 50 كيلومترا.
ولم تصدر الوكالة تحذيرا من تسونامي لأن الهزات الناتجة عن الزلزال لن تؤدي إلى أمواج عاتية.
وتتعرض إندونيسيا لزلازل متكررة بسبب موقعها على “حزام النار”، وهو منطقة تنشط فيها الزلازل والبراكين حول حوض المحيط الهادي.
وفي نوفمبر، ضرب زلزال بقوة 5.6 درجة مقاطعة جاوا الغربية المكتظة بالسكان ما أسفر عن مقتل 602 شخص.
وتسبب زلزال كبير قبالة جزيرة سومطرة الإندونيسية في 26 ديسمبر 2004 بتسونامي في المحيط الهندي أدى إلى مقتل أكثر من 230 ألف شخص في دول مثل سريلانكا والهند وتايلاند.
