قدم الدكتور عصام فرحات رئيس جامعة المنيا، درع الجامعة للواء محمد مصطفى ضبش، مساعد وزير الداخلية، مدير أمن المنيا، و اللواء صلاح الدياستي، مساعد وزير الداخلية لقطاع شمال؛ وذلك تقديراُ لمجهوداتهم، ودور رجال الشرطة، في الحفاظ على أمن الوطن والمواطنين وحماية الجبهة الداخلية، والتصدي لأي مخططات تستهدف زعزعة أمنه واستقراره.
جاء ذلك خلال زيارته للقيادات الأمنية والتنفيذية بمحافظة المنيا؛ لتقديم التهنئة بمناسبة ذكرى الاحتفال بعيد الشرطة المصرية في عامه الثاني والسبعين.
وثمن الدكتور د. عصام فرحات، جهود رجال الشرطة وما تشهده مصر من حالة استقرار غير المسبوقة على كافة المستويات الداخلية والخارجية، والتي تشكل سياجاً منيعاً ضد المخاطر والتهديدات تجاه الوطن، وحفظ مقدراته وثرواته البشرية والمادية، مؤكداً أن الشعب المصري بجميع فئاته يدرك حجم التضحيات الذي يقدمها رجال الشرطة والجيش البواسل بما يمثلون من ركنًا ومقومًا رئيسًا للأمن القومي المصري، لتحقيق تطلعات شعب مصر نحو مستقبل مشرق،
