تستعد محافظة أسوان بأجهزتها التنفيذية لمواجهة تداعيات أي أمطار غزيرة أو سيول مستقبلية في ظل المتغيرات المناخية المختلفة. ويستعرض “اليوم السابع” أبرز الجهود المبذولة للاستعداد لحالة الطوارئ وتنفيذ تكليفات رئيس الجمهورية ورئيس مجلس الوزراء، بحسب المعلومات التي أوضحها المهندس محمد علي رئيس إدارة الري المركزية بأسوان. :
1. أكدت محافظة أسوان على ضرورة التنسيق الجيد والمكثف خلال الفترة الحالية بين كافة الجهات المسؤولة لمواجهة أي كوارث بيئية.
2. جاري مراجعة المنافذ الصناعية للسيول.
3. تقوم هيئة الري والجهات المختصة بإزالة أي تعديات أو منشآت أو مباني موجودة بها.
4. يتم تطهير الترع والعبارات ومخارج السيول والمصارف والسدود والحواجز والبحيرات.
5. يوجد في أسوان 36 فتحة صناعية بطول 131 كم.
6. تم التأكد والاطمئنان على سلامة الأعمال الصناعية بإجمالي 59 عملاً صناعياً، منها 22 سداً معوقاً، و14 حاجزاً ترابياً، و23 بحيرة صناعية.
7. كما تم زيارة الأودية الطبيعية التابعة للوحدات المحلية، وتم ملاحظة بعض التعديات، وجاري اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لإزالتها.
