قال الدكتور محمد شبيب، استشاري طب الأطفال وحديثي الولادة بمستشفى شبرا العام، إن الكثير من الأطفال يصابون بنزلات البرد ونزلات البرد بشكل متكرر ومستمر طوال العام، مشيراً إلى أن ذلك له أسباب طبية عديدة.
وأوضح شبيب لـ«اليوم السابع» أن حساسية الأنف من أسباب إصابة طفلك بنزلات البرد بشكل متكرر، حيث تظهر أعراض البرد بـ«شائك الأنف» وتتكرر في «مواسم» معينة أو مع التعرض لمثير معين مثل : الأوساخ، وحبوب اللقاح، أو وبر الحيوانات الأليفة. مثل: القطط أو روائح معينة، وهذه من أعراض حساسية الأنف.
وأوضح أن من أسباب نزلات البرد المتكررة عند الأطفال هو الإصابة المتكررة، كقلة التهوية، وقلة الوعي الصحي حول استخدام الكمامات، وعدم السعال في الوجه، وعزل الأطفال المصابين بالسعال، واستخدام الأدوات الشخصية للطلاب، وقلة الوعي تعد النظافة العامة، مثل أهمية غسل اليدين بشكل منتظم، من أكثر الأسباب شيوعًا للإصابة بالأمراض المتكررة لدى الأطفال.
وأشار إلى أن من أسباب نزلات البرد المتكررة أن يكون الطفل حاملا للميكروب، حيث أن الميكروب يتواجد في الأنف والحنجرة والجيوب الأنفية نتيجة عدم تناول المضاد الحيوي أو جرعة غير كاملة، وهو يتم اكتشافها بمسحة الحلق، وكذلك وجود البكتيريا على الجسم واليدين والجلد وحتى أسطح الحمامات والمراحيض.
وأكد أن الأورام الحميدة هي أحد أسباب نزلات البرد المتكررة، لذا فإن إزالة الأورام الحميدة يجعل الأعراض تتحسن وتصبح أفضل في 70% من الحالات.
