تهتم الدولة المصرية بالأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة ومنهم الأطفال المصابين بالتوحد، حيث تنفذ الدولة من خلال الوزارات المختلفة العديد من المشروعات والأنشطة المخصصة للأطفال، كما تنفذ مديرية الشباب والرياضة بمحافظة بني سويف مشروع أطفال التوحد للإعاقات العقلية ضمن مركزين بمحافظة بني سويف..
قال هشام الجبالي وكيل وزارة الشباب والرياضة بمحافظة بني سويف، إن المديرية تنفذ مشروع أطفال التوحد للإعاقات العقلية، ضمن مركزين للشباب بالمحافظة، الأول مركز تنمية الشباب والثاني هو مركز شباب مدينة بني سويف النموذجي..
وأضاف هشام الجبالي أن المشروع يهدف إلى رعاية الأطفال المصابين بالتوحد من ذوي الإعاقة العقلية، مشيراً إلى أن المشروع يهدف إلى رعاية الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة العقلية والتوحد وداون والقصور الفكري من الجنسين..
وتابع هشام الجبالي أن المديرية تنفذ المشروع من خلال ممارسة الرياضة بالإضافة إلى جلسات التواصل وتنمية المهارات على يد مدربين متخصصين يبذلون قصارى جهدهم لمساعدة الحالات الزائرة للمركز. .
وأشار الجبالي إلى أن المشروع ينفذ تحت رعاية الدكتور أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة، والدكتور محمد هاني غنيم محافظ بني سويف، منوها باهتمام الوزارة بالأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة والتركيز على ودعمهم وتوفير جزء من العبء على الأسر. .
وأكد الجبالي أن المديرية تنفذ أيضاً المشروع الوطني للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، مشيراً إلى أن المشروع يهدف إلى الاهتمام بالأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة الحركية من الجنسين من خلال ممارسة الرياضة بالإضافة إلى تطوير مهاراتهم الحركية. .
