استقبل الدكتور عبد العزيز قنصوة، رئيس جامعة الإسكندرية، الدكتورة أندريا نولان رئيس جامعة إدنبرة نابير الأسكتلندية والوفد المرافق لها، بهدف تطوير سبل التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافى بين الجانبين في الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وذلك بحضور الدكتور على عبد المحسن القائم بأعمال نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون التعليم والطلاب، والدكتور هشام سعيد القائم بأعمال نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون الدراسات العليا والبحوث، والدكتورة بشرى سالم مسئول مكتب العلاقات الدولية بالجامعة، والدكتورة جيهان جويفل مساعد رئيس الجامعة لشئون فروع الجامعات الدولية، والدكتور عصام وهبة القائم بأعمال عميد كلية الهندسة.
وفى كلمته رحب الدكتور قنصوة بوفد جامعة إدنبرة نابير مؤكداً حرص جامعة الإسكندرية على التعاون مع الجامعات الأسكتلندية فى المجالات العلمية والثقافية المختلفة مشيراً إلى العلاقات الدولية لجامعة الإسكندرية مع الجامعات العالمية ذات التصنيف المرتفع من خلال الدرجات العلمية المزدوجة والأبحاث العلمية والمشروعات البحثية المشتركة مع هذه الجامعات، كما أستعرض سبل دعم البحث العلمي عبر مبادرة دعم شباب الباحثين وتحفيز الإبتكار وريادة الأعمال من خلال حاضنة جامعة الإسكندرية للتكنولوجيا Alexandria University Technology Park، ودور الجامعة كبيت خبرة أكاديمي للمجتمع الصناعى المحيط، ومشاركة الجامعة فى مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتغير المناخي COP27 والتحضير لمؤتمر COP28 معرباً عن تطلعه لزيادة هذا التعاون فى مجالات تبادل أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب ومشاركة الآراء والخبرات فى مجال التعليم والبحث العلمي والإبتكار والتدريب والدرجات العلمية المشتركة فى مرحلتى البكالوريوس والدراسات العليا.
وأشادت الدكتورة اندريا نولان، بالمستوى المتميز لجامعة الإسكندرية مؤكدة حرص جامعة إدنبرة نابير على التعاون مع جامعة الإسكندرية فى مجالات البرامج التعليمية والمشروعات البحثية المشتركة فى مختلف التخصصات الأكاديمية بشكل عام والعلوم الهندسية والاجتماعية والصحية بشكل خاص
