عند الإصابة بسرطان الرئة يصاب المريض بسعال شديد ومستمر لا يستجيب لأي علاج مهما كان لفترات طويلة.

قرقرة الصدر، أو إصدار صوت أثناء التنفس أثناء الشهيق والزفير.

ويصاحب البلغم دم، ويكون الدم مميزاً وذو لون أحمر فاتح.

ينخفض وزن المريض بشكل ملحوظ خلال فترة قصيرة، كما تنخفض شهيته بشكل كامل وملحوظ أيضًا.

كما يؤثر في بعض الحالات على الجهاز الهضمي، مما يسبب اضطراب عملية الهضم والشهية.
واختتم نائب مدير الحميات حديثه بقوله إنه يتم إجراء الأشعة المقطعية وبعض الفحوصات المتخصصة الأخرى للكشف عن أورام الرئة، إلى جانب التعرف على التاريخ العائلي للمرض لدى عائلة المريض.
