المفوضية السامية: تعهدات بالمنتدى العالمى بتقديم من 2.2 مليار دولار للاجئين
قالت المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين إن المشاركين في المنتدى العالمي للاجئين تعهدوا بتقديم أكثر من 2.2 مليار دولار لمعالجة أزمة اللاجئين العالمية، في خطوة قال الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إنها ستسهم في “الحد من مد البؤس”.
وحضر المنتدى الذي استمر ثلاثة أيام في جنيف بسويسرا آلاف الأشخاص من منظمات الإغاثة والشركات والمجتمع المدني، حيث تجاوز عدد النازحين واللاجئين رقما قياسيا قدره 114 مليون شخص بسبب الصراعات والفقر وتغير المناخ.
وقال فيليبو غراندي، المفوض السامي للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين – بحسب قناة الحرة الأميركية الجمعة – إنه سعيد وفخور بالنتيجة التي تأتي في الوقت الذي تواجه فيه المفوضية نقصا حادا في التمويل وفي الوقت الذي تحاول فيه مكافحة أزمة اللاجئين. الخطاب الغربي المتنامي الذي يرى في اللاجئين تهديدًا.
وأضاف -في كلمة ختامية بالمنتدى- أن “هذا العمل ضروري للغاية، لأن العالم، كما تعلمون، لا يزال يواجه أوقاتا صعبة للغاية”.
وتابع: “إن العالم يحتاج حالياً إلى تنشيط الإنسانية والطاقة للتغلب على التحديات الماثلة أمامنا، بما في ذلك تحدي النزوح القسري”.
وقال غراندي – خلال المنتدى الذي استمر ثلاثة أيام – إن سبعة ملايين نزحوا بسبب الحرب الدائرة في السودان، ودعا إلى اتخاذ خطوات لتجنب حدوث أزمة لاجئين في قطاع غزة.
