تحدث إمام عن انتشار عددا من المواقع وتطبيقات المراهنات والقمار الالكتروني، في الفترة الأخيرة، ويعتبر موقع 1xbet الأكثر رواجًا بين مواقع المراهنات، ويعتبر الموقع الأم لكل تلك المواقع.
أنتجته شركة مقامرة عبر الإنترنت مسجلة بدولة قبرص، ويقدم أكثر من ثلاثون مراهنة للحدث الواحد، وذلك في أحداث رياضية وسياسية وانتخابية، واستخدم الموقع في الإعلانات لجذب المستخدمين، حيث انتشرت في كل مكان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وأضاف رئيس حزب العدل أن هذه المراهنات الإلكترونية تقود إلى ارتكاب الجرائم، بخاصة بين الشباب القصر في سن الـ ١٨ عاما، والأصل في ذلك هو غياب قانون خاص يجرم القمار الإلكتروني بشكله الحديث وعدم حظر مثل هذه المواقع حتى الآن، وعلى ذلك ارجو إحاله هذا الطلب إلى لجنة الاتصالات للمناقشة.
