دعت المديرية العامة للدفاع المدني إلى الالتزام بتعليمات وإرشادات السلامة أثناء تنزههم للوقاية، والمحافظة على المتنزهات، وعدم إشعال النار في أراضي الغطاء النباتي، والاتصال بالرقم (911) في مناطق مكة المكرمة والرياض والشرقية و(998) في بقية مناطق المملكة في حال وقوع حرائق، واستخدام أدوات الإطفاء المتوافرة حتى وصول فرق الإطفاء والإنقاذ.
وأوضحت المديرية أن حرائق المتنزهات قد تحدث عند إشعال النيران للطبخ وعدم التأكد من إطفائها، ورمي أعقاب السجائر، وترك قطع الزجاج المتناثرة ملقاة فيها، التي قد تتأثر بأشعة الشمس، مما قد يسبب احتراق المواد القابلة للاشتعال.
