بايدن قد يجتمع بالرئيس الصينى على هامش قمة "أبيك" الشهر القادم
قال الرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن، الجمعة، إن اجتماعه مع الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ، على هامش قمة أبك المقرر عقدها في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر المقبل في سان فرانسيسكو، أمر محتمل.
وردا على سؤال حول إمكانية عقد لقاء مباشر مع الزعيم الصيني، قال بايدن: “لم يتم الإعداد لمثل هذا اللقاء، لكنه ممكن”.
ولم يتواصل بايدن وشي جين بينغ منذ اجتماعهما في نوفمبر الماضي على هامش قمة مجموعة العشرين في بالي بإندونيسيا.
وسبق أن أوضح مسؤولون في البيت الأبيض أنهم يأملون أن يجري الرئيسان محادثات قريبا، ويعمل مسؤولو الإدارة على إقناع الصين بالموافقة على الاجتماع.
أعلن السيناتور الأمريكي مايك كرابو أن مجموعة من أعضاء مجلس الشيوخ من الحزبين الديمقراطي والجمهوري سيزورون الصين الأسبوع المقبل، ويأملون في لقاء رئيس البلاد شي جين بينغ.
وذكرت صحيفة واشنطن بوست نقلا عن مصادرها أن البيت الأبيض بدأ التخطيط لاجتماع محتمل بين الرئيس جو بايدن ونظيره الصيني شي جين بينغ في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر المقبل في كاليفورنيا.
يُشار إلى أن قمة منتدى التعاون الاقتصادي لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ (أبيك) التي تضم 19 دولة بالإضافة إلى هونج كونج وتايوان، من المقرر أن تعقد في مدينة سان فرانسيسكو الأمريكية منتصف نوفمبر المقبل.
