أشاد وزير الخارجية سامح شكري، خلال مؤتمر صحفي، بدعوة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو جوتيريش لوقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة والسماح بإيصال المساعدات لسكان القطاع.
أكد وزير الخارجية سامح شكري، أن مصر تكثف اتصالاتها لوقف المواجهات العسكرية في غزة، مشددًا على ضرورة الوقف الفوري للعنف والعودة إلى طريق التهدئة، موضحًا أن مصر ترفض تهجير الفلسطينيين من قطاع غزة.
وأشار شكري إلى أن مطار العريش يستقبل آلاف المساعدات، ومصر تسعى لوصول المساعدات في أسرع وقت ممكن.
وأوضح وزير الخارجية سامح شكري، أن مصر ترفض أي محاولات لتصفية القضية الفلسطينية، لافتا إلى أن هناك جهود مصرية مستمرة لاحتواء التصعيد في قطاع غزة، ومنع تهجير الفلسطينيين من أراضيهم.
بدأت منذ قليل جلسة المباحثات الموسعة بين الوزير سامح شكري والأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو جوتيريش بمقر وزارة الخارجية بقصر التحرير، بحضور وفود من الجانبين، بحسب ما أكده الوفد. المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الخارجية السفير أحمد أيو زيد.

وأشار السفير أحمد أبو زيد إلى الجهد المشترك لخفض التصعيد واحتواء الأزمة الإنسانية في قطاع غزة وإتاحة وصول المواد الإغاثية العاجلة للفلسطينيين.
