تتجه أنظار العالم المهتمين بالحضارة المصرية إلى مدينة أبو سمبل جنوب مصر لمتابعة الظاهرة الفلكية الفريدة التي جسدها قدماء المصريين منذ آلاف السنين داخل المعبد الكبير للملك رمسيس الثاني وهو المعبد الكبير للملك رمسيس الثاني. ظاهرة تعامد الشمس على قدس الأقداس.

1- تعتبر ظاهرة تعامد الشمس ظاهرة فلكية فريدة جسدها قدماء المصريين منذ آلاف السنين في معبد أبو سمبل.
2- ظاهرة تعامد الشمس تحدث في يومين فقط من السنة وهما 22 أكتوبر و22 فبراير.
3- تبدأ الظاهرة مع شروق الشمس وتستمر حوالي 20 دقيقة فقط
4- ظاهرة تعامد الشمس هي إحدى الظواهر التي اكتشفها علماء الآثار حديثا، ولكنها جسدها قدماء المصريين منذ آلاف السنين في معبد رمسيس الكبير بمدينة أبو سمبل.
5- تم اكتشاف ظاهرة تعامد الشمس في شتاء عام 1874، عندما رصدت الكاتبة البريطانية إميليا إدوارد والفريق المرافق لها هذه الظاهرة وسجلتها في كتابها الصادر عام 1899 بعنوان “ألف ميل فوق النيل”.
6- تبدأ الظاهرة بسقوط ضوء الشمس على واجهة المعبد التي يبلغ ارتفاعها 33 مترا وعرضها 30 مترا، ويبلغ ارتفاع كل من التماثيل الأربعة الموجودة على الواجهة 20 مترا.
7- تتسلل أشعة الشمس إلى داخل المعبد فتصل إلى قدس الأقداس الذي يبعد عن المدخل حوالي ستين متراً.
8- يتكون قدس الأقداس من منصة تضم تمثال للملك رمسيس الثاني يجلس بجواره تمثال للإله رع وأخته حور والإله آمون، وتمثال رابع للإله بتاح. ولا تتعامد الشمس على وجه تمثال “بتاح” الذي اعتبره القدماء إله الظلام.
9- يرجع سبب تعامد الشمس على وجه رمسيس إلى إحدى طابقين. أحدها أن المصريين القدماء صمموا المعبد بناءً على حركة الفلك لتحديد بداية الموسم الزراعي وموسم الحصاد. والثاني أن هذين اليومين يتزامنان مع يوم ميلاد الملك رمسيس الثاني ويوم تتويجه على العرش.
10- حدثت ظاهرة “تعامد الشمس” يومي 21 أكتوبر و21 فبراير قبل عام 1964، إلا بعد نقل معبد أبو سمبل بعد تقطيعه لإنقاذه من الغرق تحت مياه بحيرة السد العالي في بداية الستينيات من عمره. الموقع القديم الذي تم نحته في الجبل إلى موقعه الحالي. وتكررت هذه الظاهرة يومي 22 أكتوبر و22 فبراير.
