وينظم قانون تنظيم الاتصالات قواعد وإجراءات اعتماد أي نوع من الأجهزة وإصدار تصاريح استيراد وتصنيع واستخدام أجهزة ومعدات الاتصالات والاتجار بها وتسويقها، كما يحدد الشروط اللازمة للحصول على هذه التصاريح ومدتها وشروطها. الرسوم المقررة لهم.
ووفقا للقانون، “يقوم الجهاز بإصدار التصريح أو رفض إصداره خلال مدة لا تتجاوز تسعين يوما من تاريخ استلامه كافة المستندات اللازمة لإصدار التصريح، ولمستوردي أو مصنعي أو مستخدمي أو أصحاب شركات الاتصالات الأجهزة والمعدات ومن يتاجر بها أن القانون يوجب الترخيص بمزاولة الأنشطة المنصوص عليها في الفقرة الأولى من هذه المادة ويلزمهم بتسوية أوضاعهم من خلال الحصول على التصاريح اللازمة من الجهاز خلال ستة أشهر من تاريخ التنفيذ من هذا القانون.
يحظر استيراد أو تصنيع أو تجميع أية أجهزة اتصالات إلا بعد الحصول على تصريح بذلك من الهيئة، ووفقاً للمعايير والمواصفات المعتمدة لديها.
