ادعت وزارة الدفاع التركية، تدمير 16 موقعا لحزب العمال الكردستاني وقتل عدد كبير منهم في غارات جوية على شمالي العراق. وقالت الوزارة، إن هذه العمليات تهدف للقضاء على تنظيم “بي كي كي”، لوقف الهجمات القادمة من شمالي العراق التي تستهدف الشعب والقوات الأمنية التركية، وذلك انطلاقا من المادة 51 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة المتعلق بحق الدفاع المشروع عن النفس.
وأشارت في بيان إلى استهداف مواقع المسلحين في مناطق متينا وغارا وهاركوك وأسوس شمالي العراق بالتعاون مع الاستخبارات التركية. وأكد البيان تدمير 16 هدفا من كهوف ومخابئ ومستودعات وتحصينات، يعتقد بأنها تضم قياديين في التنظيمات المعارضة.
