قال ،اليوم الخميس، زعيم الجالية الإسلامية في سيدني، أن الولد منفذ عملية طعن الأسقف ماري إيمانويل يعاني من اضطرابات سلوكية، وأنه سريع الغضب.
كما ذكر أن عائلة الولد زارته في المستشفى يومي الثلاثاء، والأربعاء، وهم أمه، ووالده، وشقيقته، وعمه،
وفي المقابل أعرب المتهم عن ندمه الشديد، وظل يخاطب والدته معتذرا لها عما فعله، مرددًا: “أنا أسف يا أمي”.
ودانت العائلة بأكملها تصرف ابنهم الخطير، مؤكدين أنه ليس إرهابيا، حيث أشارت الأم إلي أنه يحب سماع الموسيقى، والأغاني، والرقص، وتساءلت كيف لإرهابي أن يغني، ويرقص، ويستمع للأغاني؟!.
وأضافت الأم أن ابنها يعاني من سرعة غضب بدون أسباب وجيهة، وأنه يتردد على ٣ اختصاصيين نفسيين، ومرشد مدرسي، وأنه كان على موعد مع زيارة طبيب نفسي.
ونفت الأم أن يكون هناك تشخيص محدد ومعروف لحالة ابنها النفسية، ولكن قيل لها أنه ربما يعاني من اضطراب طيف التوحد أو مشكلات في إدارة الغضب.
