أعلن مركز رصد الزلازل الأوروبي المتوسطي، أن زلزالا ضرب البحر المتوسط اليوم أثار قلقًا واسعًا، حيث شعر به سكان العديد من الدول المطلة على البحر
وزلزال البحر المتوسط اليوم، شعر به سكان ليبيا فقد أعلن المركز الليبي للاستشعار عن بعد وعلوم الفضاء عن حدوث زلزال بقوة 5.3 درجة على مقياس ريختر، وقد سُجلت الهزة من قبل محطات الرصد الزلزالي العالمية في منطقة ساحل الجبل الأخضر في البحر المتوسط علي بعد 250 كيلومترا شمال مدينة درنة.
وشعر بزلزال البحر المتوسط اليوم سكان تركيا بشكل خاص، وأثار هذا الزلزال قلقاً واسعاً لا سيما مع تحذيرات العلماء من تبعات وآثار محتملة على الدول المحيطة، وخاصة تلك التي تطل سواحلها على البحر المتوسط.

ومنذ ساعات قليلة ضرب زلزال بقوة 4.9 ساحل غرب تركيا الواقع على البحر المتوسط، وكان على عمق 7 كيلومترات من سطح الأرض.
وذكر مركز رصد الزلازل الأوروبي أن الزلزال وقع على بعد 132 كيلومترا غرب باليكسير، و11 كيلومترا جنوب شرق إزيني، تركيا.
