وتسعى باكستان للحصول على دعم ثنائي بقيمة 11 مليار دولار تقريبًا من الصين والمملكة العربية السعودية.
ذكرت صحيفة دون الباكستانية يوم الجمعة أن الحكومة المؤقتة تسعى إلى توسيع صافي الضرائب بشكل فعال ليشمل قطاعات التجزئة والزراعة والعقارات، مع الاستمرار في اتخاذ إجراءات صارمة ضد التحركات غير القانونية للعملة لسد فجوات الموارد الخارجية والمحلية حتى تتمكن باكستان من الحصول على الدعم و لكي يظل برنامج صندوق النقد الدولي على المسار الصحيح. الطريق الصحيح لضمان الاستقرار الاقتصادي إلى أن تتولى حكومة منتخبة السلطة.
كان هذا جزءًا من بيان سياسي مفصل أصدره وزير المالية المؤقت شامشاد أختار أمام اللجنة الدائمة لمجلس الشيوخ المعنية بالتمويل والإيرادات، برئاسة السيناتور سليم ماندفيوالا في إسلام آباد.
وقالت إن الحكومة تعمل حاليًا على خطة الإنعاش الاقتصادي التي سيتم تقديمها إلى رئيس الوزراء المؤقت قريبًا ومشاركتها مع اللجنة الدائمة للشؤون المالية بمجلس الشيوخ.
وأضافت أن الحكومة المؤقتة لديها نطاق محدود لإجراء إصلاحات هيكلية عميقة الجذور، لكنها وعدت بتنفيذ الإصلاحات التي كانت جزءًا من برنامج صندوق النقد الدولي لضمان صرف قسط قرض بقيمة 700 مليون دولار. ومن المقرر أن تبدأ المحادثات مع صندوق النقد الدولي بنهاية أكتوبر في هذا الصدد.
