حذّر مسؤول في وزارة الدفاع الأميركية حزب الله اللبناني من مغبة اتّخاذ “قرار خاطئ”بفتح جبهة ثانية مع إسرائيل في خضم تصدّيها لهجمات حركة حماس في قطاع غزة.وأعرب المسؤول في تصريح لصحافيين عن “قلق بالغ إزاء(احتمال) اتّخاذ حزب الله القرار الخاطئ باختياره فتح جبهة ثانية في هذا النزاع”.
وأضاف أنّه من بين الأسباب التي دفعت واشنطن إلى نشر مجموعة حاملة طائرات هجومية في شرق البحر المتوسط، إفهام تنظيمات إقليمية تدعمها إيران،على غرار حزب الله، ضرورة عدم “التشكيك في التزام الحكومة الأميركية دعم القدرات الدفاعية لإسرائيل”وجاء إعلان الولايات المتّحدة قرارها بشأن نشر مجموعة حاملة الطائرات الهجومية التي تضمّ سفناً حربية عدّة الأحد غداة هجمات حركة حماس غير المسبوقة على جنوب إسرائيل انطلاقاً من قطاع غزة المحاصر والتي أوقعت مئات القتلى. وسجّل في هذا الأسبوع تبادل لإطلاق النار بين إسرائيل وحزب الله لكن التصعيد لم يتحوّل إلى حرب واسعة النطاق على غرار تلك التي وقعت في العام 2006 والتي من شأن تكرارها أنّ يفتح على الجيش الإسرائيلي جبهة ثانية، ما سيستنزف قواته.
وأعلن حزب الله الإثنين مقتل ثلاثة من عناصره في قصف إسرائيلي استهدف جنوب لبنان، ردّ عليه بقصف ثكنتين إسرائيليتين.
وشبّه المسؤول في وزارة الدفاع الأميركية الهجمات التي شنّتها حماس في نهاية الأسبوع بهجمات تنظيم داعش.
وقال المسؤول إنّ “ما شهدناه يُرتكب ضدّ مدنيين إسرائيليين هو مستوى وحشية تنظيم داعش”مشيراً إلى إحراق منازل وارتكاب مجازر بحقّ شبّان كانوا في حفلة موسيقية.
