وأكدت منظمة الصحة العالمية، في بيان لها، أن هناك حاجة لممر إنساني للوصول إلى الأشخاص الذين لديهم الإمدادات الحيوية في قطاع غزة، مشيرة إلى أن المنظمة تعمل على هذا الأمر مع الوكالات الشريكة.
وقال المتحدث باسم المنظمة طارق جاساريفيتش -في مؤتمر صحفي عقده اليوم الثلاثاء في جنيف- إن الإمدادات المخزنة سابقا في سبعة مستشفيات رئيسية في قطاع غزة قد استنفدت، وأن هذه المستشفيات قامت أمس بتفعيل خطط الطوارئ التي تم إعدادها بدعم من منظمة الصحة العالمية. وهذا من أجل إدارة الزيادة في عدد الضحايا بشكل أفضل.
وذكر المتحدث أن المنظمة الدولية تقوم بإعادة برمجة مليون دولار لشراء المستلزمات الطبية الأكثر إلحاحاً من السوق المحلية لسد الفجوات المحتاجة. ولدعم علاج ما يصل إلى 500 شخص مصابين بجروح خطيرة، تواصل المنظمة رصد الهجمات الصحية بشكل منهجي ضمن نظام مراقبة الهجمات على الرعاية الصحية، بالإضافة إلى توثيق الاحتياجات الصحية والقيود المفروضة على الوصول إلى الخدمات الصحية والإبلاغ عنها.
