قالت وزيرة الخارجية الأسترالية بيني وونغ، إن بلادها تعتزم تسيير المزيد من الرحلات الجوية لإعادة مواطنيها من إسرائيل بعد إلغاء رحلتين كان من المقرر إجراؤهما السبت، لكنها أشارت إلى أن الأمر يعتمد على المخاوف الأمنية.
وقالت للصحافيين: “أؤكد أن الحكومة الأسترالية تخطط لتسيير عدة رحلات جوية ستغادر تل أبيب الأحد، لنقل الأستراليين الذين يرغبون في المغادرة”.
وأضافت: “هناك مجموعة متنوعة من الرحلات الجوية الحكومية المستأجرة وطائرات القوات الجوية. وأؤكد أن هذه الرحلات لا تزال تخضع لاعتبارات، بما في ذلك العوامل الأمنية”.
ألغت أستراليا رحلتين في وقت متأخر من مساء السبت بسبب ما وصفته وزارة الخارجية بالوضع الإقليمي “الصعب للغاية”.
وحثت الأستراليين الذين يرغبون في مغادرة إسرائيل على “اغتنام أول فرصة تتاح لهم”، مضيفة أن الحكومة تواصل العمل على خيارات لأولئك الذين يريدون مغادرة الأراضي الفلسطينية.
