الجيش الأمريكى يشن ضربات ضد منشأتين للحرس الثورى الإيرانى شرق سوريا
أعلن وزير الدفاع الأميركي لويد أوستن، تنفيذ ضربات ضد منشأتين يستخدمهما الحرس الثوري الإيراني و”الجماعات التابعة له” شرقي سوريا، بناء على توجيهات الرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن.
وقال أوستن، في بيان نشرته وزارة الدفاع الأميركية، البنتاغون، على موقعها الإلكتروني، اليوم الجمعة: “بناء على توجيهات بايدن، نفذت القوات العسكرية الأميركية ضربات دفاع عن النفس على منشأتين في شرق سوريا تستخدمهما القوات الإيرانية”. الحرس الثوري والجماعات التابعة له”.
وأضاف: “هذه الضربات الدقيقة للدفاع عن النفس هي رد على سلسلة من الهجمات المستمرة وغير الناجحة في معظمها ضد أفراد أمريكيين في العراق وسوريا والتي بدأت في 17 أكتوبر”.
وأوضح أنه “ونتيجة لهذه الهجمات، توفي مواطن أمريكي إثر إصابته بأزمة قلبية أثناء احتوائه في مكانه، فيما أصيب 21 جنديا أمريكيا بجروح طفيفة، إلا أنهم جميعا عادوا إلى الخدمة منذ ذلك الحين”.
وشدد على أن بايدن ليس لديه أولوية أعلى من سلامة الأفراد الأمريكيين، ووجه بتنفيذ هذه الضربات لتوضيح أن الولايات المتحدة لن تتسامح مع مثل هذه الهجمات وستدافع عن نفسها وأفرادها ومصالحها.
وشدد وزير الدفاع الأمريكي على أن الولايات المتحدة لا تسعى للصراع وليس لديها أي نية أو رغبة في الانخراط في مزيد من الأعمال العدائية، لكن هذه الهجمات المدعومة من إيران ضد القوات الأمريكية غير مقبولة ويجب أن تتوقف.
وأشار إلى أن “إيران تريد إخفاء وإنكار دورها في هذه الهجمات ضد قواتنا. ولن نسمح بذلك. وإذا استمرت هجمات وكلاء إيران ضد القوات الأمريكية، فلن نتردد في اتخاذ المزيد من الإجراءات لحماية شعبنا”.
وتابع أوستن قائلا: “هذه الضربات، المصممة خصيصا للدفاع عن النفس، تهدف فقط إلى حماية والدفاع عن الأفراد الأمريكيين في العراق وسوريا. إنها منفصلة عن الحرب المستمرة بين إسرائيل والفصائل الفلسطينية، ولا تشكل تحولا في نهجنا تجاه الحرب بين إسرائيل والفصائل الفلسطينية”.
وشدد على مواصلة حث كافة الجهات الحكومية وغير الحكومية على عدم اتخاذ إجراءات من شأنها أن تتصاعد إلى صراع إقليمي أوسع.
